In response to the theme of the 2024 National Science and Technology Week, "Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Inspiring Innovation Acr-
oss Society," the launch ceremony of the 2024 Sichuan Science and Technology Week and Chengdu Science Night will be held on May 24th
by Xinglong Lake. On the eve of the official opening of Science and Technology Week, the Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau's Chengdu Sci-
ence Media Center visited the world's first Li Science Museum and released exciting preview videos and event information.
Following the initial release on the official WeChat account of the Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau, multiple media outlets, including
China Daily Sichuan Station, Sichuan Observation, Red Star News, Phoenix News, Jiemian News, Chengdu Business Daily, Sina, NetEase, and To-
day’s Headlines, reposted the information. This sparked great public interest in the Li Science Museum, leading to a surge in visit reservations.
By Xinglong Lake, a strikingly large “Li” sign stands prominently, marking the location of the world's first Li Science Museum. Upon entering
the museum, visitors are greeted by rows of dazzling lithium element displays. Here, lithium is showcased in various forms, including its natural
state, early industrial additive products, and modern applications in new energy technologies. While educating the public about lithium, the ex-
hibits also highlight its crucial role in contemporary energy transformation.
"Lithium, as an ancient and mysterious element, has untapped potential and value that are yet to be fully understood and realized. This is why
Tianqi Lithium has built the world's first science museum dedicated to lithium," explained Haowen Liu, an employee of Tianqi Lithium Corporation.
The museum's exhibits cover all aspects of the lithium industry, including the history of lithium science, the development and utilization of lithium
resources, and various applications of lithium. This offers visitors a comprehensive and multidimensional view of the lithium industry.
“Especially noteworthy is this immersive projection shaped like a lithium mine. It offers a 360-degree realistic restoration of the global distri-
bution of lithium resources. Visitors can not only appreciate the natural landscapes and marvel at the wonders of nature but also gain an in-de-
pth understanding of the importance of lithium resources and their extensive applications in modern technology,” Haowen Liu explained as
he activated the device. The entire lithium mine-shaped immersive projection lit up, continuously transforming to showcase the diverse forms
of lithium in nature. From sparkling mineral crystals to shimmering lithium-rich salt lakes, and to lithium ore buried deep underground, the exhi-
bit makes visitors feel as if they are in a magical lithium world, experiencing the boundless charm of lithium.
In fact, since its opening in October 2023, the museum has successfully attracted numerous citizens and industry professionals through its rich
exhibitions and interactive experiences. It has quickly become a popular "must-visit" technological hotspot by Xinglong Lake.
“Our goal is to create a Lithium Science Museum that integrates popular science, education, and interactive experiences, enabling more people
to learn about and understand lithium, thereby fostering interest and passion for the lithium industry,” said Haowen Liu.
With the 2024 National Science and Technology Week approaching, themed “Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Inspiring Innovation Across
Society,” the museum has meticulously planned a series of activities in alignment with this theme.
“This Science and Technology Week, we will host a series of colorful activities, allowing more people to experience the charm of lithium tech-
nology up close and ignite their passion for technological innovation,” said Haowen Liu. The museum has specially arranged visiting sessions
to educate the public on the history and future of lithium, showcasing its potential, and sharing scientific stories about lithium. The goal is to
continually promote the concept of sustainable development and the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature. “Through this event,
we hope to increase public awareness and understanding of lithium, garnering more attention and support for the development of the lithium
industry, and jointly advancing technological innovation and sustainable development,” Haowen Liu stated.
