02Popularization of Science

The “popularization of science” section of the Li Science Museum is dedicated to lithium. Lithium, the lightest metal found on Earth, naturally occurs in various forms. Its presence can be seen in the distinctive landscape features of mines and salt lakes around the world that are rich in lithium. The unique physicochemical properties of lithium grant it significant scientific and practical value, holding an irreplaceable position in the traditional chemical industry and playing a critical role in high-tech, medical, new energy, and other sectors. In this section, we will explore not only the fundamental properties of lithium and its scientific journey but also delve into how lithium is extracted from nature and refined into a variety of compound products, providing insights into how this element has impacted and transformed our world significantly.

03Industry

In the “Industry” section, we will explore the wide range of applications for lithium and its compounds across various industries, as well as their strategic importance on a macro level. Lithium-ion batteries, in particular, have transformed everyday life for people everywhere by utilizing lithium as a crucial material. These batteries are vital not only for powering modern 3C devices (computers, communications, consumer electronics) but also for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage systems.
Lithium and its compounds play a crucial role in a variety of industries. For instance, in the medical field, lithium is key to mitigating symptoms of mental illness. In metallurgy, it boosts productivity and lowers manufacturing costs. In the glass industry, it contributes to the creation of durable and lightweight glass products. Through this panel, visitors will acquire a thorough understanding of lithium's significance in modern technology and industrial advancement.
